Use Case¶
Query the geographic location of the IP address from multiple data sources
Usage Guide¶
Input the domain name or IP address to query
In the input box of ‘IP/Domain/URL/Email’, your public IP address is filled automatically for convenience.
Click on the input box, the public IP address will disappear so as to enter other values.
After the public IP address disappears, only you can edit the values in the input box.
Domain name format
User registered domain name, e.g. google.com, mozilla.org
Multi-level domain name, e.g. www.google.com, developer.mozilla.org
URL, e.g. https://mozilla.org, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/main_page
Email address, e.g. User@gmail.com, user@protonmail.com
IP address format
IP version 4 address (IPv4), e.g. 8.8.8.8
IP version 6 address (IPv6), e.g. 2001:dc7:1000:0:0:0:0:1
Select data source
Select all by default. Update data from data sources every 10 days.
Click button of query
If you entered a domain name, a URL, or an email address, the program will perform DNS resolution to get IP address of it. After Get the corresponding IP address list, just select the first IP address to query its corresponding geographic location information.
If you entered an IP address, the program will query the corresponding geographic location information directly in the database.
View Results
If you entered a domain name, a URL, or an email address, a list of IP addresses corresponding to the domain name is displayed.
If you entered an IP address, the list of geographic location information corresponding to the IP address is displayd directly.
Background Knowledge¶
In general, any device connected to Internet will be assigned an IP address. It is that the device binds the IP address, so you know the IP address, you know the geographic location of the device.
